Degrees Awarded

Ph.D. Zoology Louisiana State University, Department of Zoology and Physiology, Baton Rouge, LA May 1994

B.S. Oceanography University of Washington, Department of Oceanography, Seattle, WA August 1972

Research interest:

My main interest is in the investment coats, or embryonic coats, of marine and aquatic crustaceans embryos. I am investigating the formation of these coats and the enzymes that are responsible for the normal elevation and hardening of these protective coverings. I also am interested in the egg-sperm interaction in marine and aquatic shrimp and the way the sperm manages to penetrate the egg while investment coat formation is occurring.
