Educator, Citadel Class of 1945
Reamer Cockfield was a pre-med student in The Citadel Class of 1945 and was exempt from the draft. He enlisted voluntarily in the Marine Corps as a private first class and served in combat in the Pacific Theater (Battle of Iwo Jima). Mr. Cockfield describes his experience as a stretcher bearer during the Battle of Iwo Jima.
