Written to his family in Walterboro, South Carolina concerning his activities in the summer and fall of 1898 at Camp Price, Macon, Georgia; Camp Ray, Savannah, Georgia and Camp Lawton, Guantanamo, Cuba. Rivers died in Cuba. Twenty-six letters are arranged chronologically.
