Lee Chandler reflects on his cadet years at The Citadel. After completing Officer Candidate School training, he was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant in the 271st Infantry, 69th Division and served in the European Theater during World War II. Chandler describes his combat experiences including his injuries at the Siegfried Line. After the war, Chandler began a civic and legal career, elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives, Circuit Judge, Associate Justice and later Chief Justice of the South Carolina Supreme Court.
