Julian John Gayden Photograph Collection

Photographs of The Citadel campus and cadet life taken in the World War II era by Julian John Gayden, Class of 1943. Photographs include fencing, mess hall scenes, parades, and social life on campus.

Also included are pamphlets on fallout shelters, including:

"Facts about Fallout Protection" by the Executive Office of the President, Office of Civil and Defense Mobilization, printed October 1960

"A Family Action Program: Home Protection Exercises" by the Executive Office of the President, Office of Civil and Defense Mobilization, printed December 1960

"Ten for Survival: Survive Nuclear Attack" by the Office of Civil and Defense Mobilization, printed March 1961

Additional donation 2018: 1943 Commencement program and Gayden's 1943 Citadel diploma, framed
