KOVATS, COL. MICHAEL DE (1724 - May 11, 1779)

Revolutionary War Cavalry Officer who was killed by the British in Charleston in 1779. Kovats Field on the Citadel campus is named for him. The Kovats Bicentennial 1779-1979 was held at The Citadel.
