Confederate Army officer. McKittrick was 2nd lieutenant in Company I, 16th S. C. Reg't Volunteers, Gist's Brigade, Walker's Division. He fought at Kennesaw Mt. near Atlanta and was killed July 22, 1864.
Written to his wife, McKittrick describes camp life, engagements in which his unit fought, Charleston in 1863, attempts for a discharge due to age, 41.
