Confederate Army officer. McKittrick was 2nd lieutenant in Company I, 16th South Carolina Regiment Volunteers, Gist's Brigade, Walker's Division. He fought at Kennesaw Mountain near Atlanta and was killed July 22, 1864.
Written to his wife, McKittrick describes camp life and engagements. Mentions Charleston, South Carolina in 1863.
