Private in Confederate States Army, Company I, 24th Regiment, South Carolina Infantry, commanded by Ellison Capers. Padgett was on first roll at Coles Island 4/21/1862, killed Battle of Franklin, Tennessee 11/30/1864.
Letters from Coles Island and Pocotaligo S.C. and Jonesboro, Georgia. Three letters from his sister, Mary Ann Lark from Hamburg, S.C. and Newton, Ga.
