Valedictory address at the 1862 commencement. Wells commends the faculty for the excellent education and describes the college's heritage. He acknowledges the hospitality of the ladies and gentlemen of Charleston during his four year stay and pledges military service for the defense of blockaded and imperiled city of Charleston.
