Committee Minutes

The meeting was called to order.

1. OLD BUSINESS
1. Cluster Committee Reports - Presentation of Research Proposals
1. Cluster C
1. Five proposals reviewed.
2. Two proposals recommended for approval - biology
3. Three proposals approved with stipulations; reduction in request to adhere to state guidelines - chemistry.
4. Research Chairperson will seek clarification of state guidelines for instate meals that are not included in conference costs.
2. Cluster B
1. Nine proposals reviewed.
2. All proposals recommended for approval - two English, four history, and three political science and criminal justice
3. Research Chairperson will seek clarification of regulations and policies for telephone charges
3. Cluster A
1. One proposal reviewed
2. Proposal recommended for approval - business administration
4. Research Committee Recommendations
1. The Research Committee voted to approve and approve with stipulations the presentation of research proposals submitted for call period 01 Oct 02 - 15 Feb 03.
2. NEW BUSINESS
1. Revisions - Presentation of Research Proposal Forms
1. Add a Checklist - Dr. Mark McKinney will revise forms to include a checklist to remind applicants:
1. to attach the abstract
2. to describe the research
3. to include the announcement of the conference and call for papers
4. to include notification of abstract acceptance.
2. Add Reimbursement for mileage section for:
1. Citadel vehicle
2. POV
3. International
3. Research Chairperson will send letter of appreciation to Dr. McKinney.
2. Revisions - Call Periods
1. Fall call period for Presentation of Research Proposals
1. Call period will reflect the entire academic year
2. Provisions will be made for late announcements and rolling submissions
3. Adjournment
