"The Citadel's French
program is a wonderful program filled with lots of exotic, cultural,
and learning environments. I loved my stay in Montpellier.
It is a beautiful city, full of beautiful shops, fun festivals,
and pleasant people. The school consists of a small classroom
environment designed to meet your skill level. The teachers
and other students are very polite and fun to be around. Some
of the greatest times you will have are on your weekly excursions
to exotic beaches, castles, huge cities, small villages, and finally
to Paris. I loved every second in France, and would do it
over again if I had the chance."

"My trip to France with The
Citadel in the summer of 2002 was an amazing experience. Our
language institute was fun and helped my language skills, which
made my stay with my great host family go even better. We
traveled throughout the south of France, and had a nice balance
of visiting historical sites as well as gorgeous ones. The
visit to Paris was the best end to the trip, we saw the traditional
tourist spots, while we had the opportunity to explore and experience
the charm of Paris."

"The summer trip to France was
the best decision I made knob (freshman) year, next to staying here.
With Mr. Toubiana as our academic advisor and trip planner, we were
able to discover all of southern France, with the most attention
given to the Montpellier region.
We visited Carcassonne, one of France's
most historic castles, the Palace of the Pope, when he was stationed
in France, and one of France's hidden treasures, the Calanques of
Cassis. The Calanques is a collection of inlet beaches protected
on two sides by steep rock faces, and they are filled with the bluest
water I have ever seen.
I would recommend this trip for anybody
looking to expand their language skills, and especially for those
attempting a major or minor in French. I am planning on returning
next summer in pursuit of my minor and to meet some of my newfound
international friends again."

"This summer was one of the
best of my life...The program set me up with a family in Montpellier.
My time there was well spent and I will never forget the good times
I had or the great friends I met. I will never regret this
summer and would recommend this program to anybody."

"My six week visit to
France (four weeks in Montpellier with the group) exceeded my already
high expectations of the culture and people. I also learned more French
than I had previously anticipated. I had studied French for
years, but I believe that I learned more from the total immersion
in the culture for just that short period of time than all the years
of once or twice a week study in the United States."

"I had
the time of my life. The trip was everything it was supposed to be
and more. I cannot wait to go back. I plan on returning within the
next year. It was incredible!"

"My experience
in France was life changing. I met people from all over the
world and for the first time in two years of study in French, it
came alive for me. I will never forget the experiences I had,
and it would be terrible for someone to go through college without
an experience like this."

The amount of fun I had on this trip is unbelievable! The French
culture and music is one of a kind. Not only has there been an
improvement to my French but also my view on politics, as well
as the importance of American influence abroad. The memories and
friends I have made on this trip will never be forgotten. The
food is one of a kind. Every time we would go to the market you
thought you were eating at a five star restaurant. Thank you to
the French department for offering this amazing trip! -Michael
