Certificado de mérito
Since 2002 The Citadel's Tau Iota Chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society, has recognized the outstanding achievement of high school students throughout the state of South Carolina with a handsome certificate of merit for their study of Spanish language, culture, and/or literature.
In order to qualify, students must have an "A" (4.0) average in each of their Spanish courses (i.e., Spanish I, Spanish II, Spanish III, Spanish IV, AP Spanish) during three or four years of Spanish study and attend a public or private secondary institution in South Carolina.
The names of qualifying students must be provided via e-mail to Dr. Sara Fernández-Medina (email@example.com), Tau Iota Adviser and Director of the Certificate of Merit Program, preferably by the end of April of each year along with the requester's name and complete school mailing address. Certificates will be sent to the teacher during May and may be presented during the school's annual awards convocation.
