The Sesquicentennial Flag
Official logo of the 150th anniversary of
The Citadel Alumni Association

What
does it mean?
Triangular
field
This
represents the three official names of the alumni association: Association
of Graduates (1852-1934), Association of Citadel Men (1934-1997) and The
Citadel Alumni Association (1997-present).
Gold Stars
A traditional symbol of excellence at the college, these stars represents
the small group of alumni who gathered on Nov. 19, 1852 to form the first
association.
Blue and white
stripes
The official colors of the college, the stripes and triangle converge
to form the flag just as the college and the alumni association have always
come together for common causes.
Red field
The triangular field is red to acknowledge the "Big Red" colors
of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets and its close relationship with
the alumni association.
