STATEMENT OF COMPLIANCE: The Citadel is in compliance with Federal Mandate 8.
RATIONALE FOR JUDGMENT OF COMPLIANCE:
The Citadel is in full compliance with all program responsibilities outlined in the Title IV of the 1998 Higher Education Amendments (Reference 1). The annual State of South Carolina Statewide Single Audit (Reference 2) includes a detailed review of The Citadel’s Title IV program administration, as prescribed by the US Department of Education, in accordance with OMB A-133. In 2001, the only reportable condition, finding number 01H09-1, referenced a delinquent refund to a loan provider. This condition was considered minor and was corrected immediately upon discovery. On October 11, 2002, the US Department of Education wrote a letter to the Governor of South Carolina stating, “no further action is required at this time and you may consider this finding closed (Reference 3).” The 2002 Citadel A-133 Audit (Reference 4) reported no findings.
