
What:
4 weeks of summer study in Spain: 2 weeks in either Salamanca or the capital
of Madrid and 2 weeks in the southern coastal city of either Puerto de Santa
María or Alicante (to be determined by the program director).
Courses taught by native Spanish speakers who are certified instructors of the
International Institute of Sampere, an
institution with over 45 years of successful language instruction to foreign
students and has worked with The Citadel for over 15 years.
All cadets attend classes five days a week, four hours a day with Sampere instructors.
Students enrolled in Spanish 450 couses will also attend weekly classes taught
by the Citadel program director.
Cultural Excursions:
Weekend visits vary each year. Previous years included excursions to Avila,
Segovia, Salamanca, Toledo, Barcelona, Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada,
Seville, Santa Barbara Castille, , The Royal Palace, along with visits to numerous
museums (i.e.: El Prado), cathedrals, and other sites of cultural interest.
Food & Lodging:
Students are housed with Spanish families where they receive breakfast, lunch,
and dinner. (Laundering services are also provided.)
When:
Departure for Madrid, Spain from U.S.: June 1, 2008.
Return from Madrid to U.S.: July 2, 2008.
