Write a description, no more than 5,000 characters in length, of how you use writing in your classroom during a typical nine-week grading period.

Describe two lessons you have used that focus eithr on teaching some aspect of writng or using writing as a learning tool, either of which you could use as a sample demonstration during the Summer Institute. For each lesson, provide an overview of the lesson and its goals, a description of the writing activities, and copies of any assessment measures (such as scoring guides). Ideally, you should have access to samples of student work generated by each lesson.
